Forestry Mulching, or Hydro Ax, is the process of utilizing high speed hydraulic powered grinders to grind small trees and underbrush into small chips or mulch. It is a cost effective method for cleaning large properties in a short amount of time. Forestry mulching is an eco-friendly method of clearing land because the chips naturally break down and are absorbed into the soil. This decomposition process might take a while. In most cases forestry mulching requires little to no haul off of the mulch produced. Rather it’s left on the ground to provide nutrients for future trees or vegetation including grass.
Our excavator mounted forestry mulcher can reach into many places that our other mulchers cannot access. These areas would include steep ditch banks, pond levees, and fence lines.
Keeping the area around ditches and ponds cleared serves a few purposes. First and probably the most important in our area is improving drainage allowing the water to flow easily into the ditch or pond. Second would be to minimize the habitat for rodents and snakes especially if a homeowner intends to utilize a pond for recreation. The third reason for mulching around a ditch or pond would be purely aesthetics. A nice clean mulched area will give grass and flowers the opportunity to grow instead of overgrown brush. Forestry mulching can improve your view.
Overgrown fence lines can make maintenance impossible. Large fence areas can be difficult and time consuming to maintain which is a service that we do offer. In order to reclaim the area, forestry mulching might be needed. With our mulching head, we can grind the trees, shrubs, and brush to a manageable level. The problem might be overhanging limbs that could fall on the fence or obstruct maintaining the area. We can easily mulch the limbs back without destroying the tree. Forestry mulching can also be utilized to reclaim open areas or pastures that have grown too thick for a tractor to effectively mow. As with fence lines, we can mulch a pasture back to a manageable level.
Forestry mulching is a fantastic way to highlight a property for sales to attract potential buyers. Overgrowth can hinder the view to see the size of the property. Creating a nice clean lot will allow potential buyers to visualize their future home or business site.
